About Bon Bon Berry

The selection of healthy and delicious treats at Bon Bon Berry Acai Bowl & Frozen Yogurt is the stuff of Hollywood dreams — Keto bowls, Aloha bowls, Nutella toast, and healthy fruit-flavored Gummis, to list a few items from their menu.

Located in West Los Angeles, the store is a family business that was inspired by owner Michael Lee’s wife’s love of acai bowls — an antioxidant-rich power food that originated in Brazil and was popularized by surfers in California and Hawaii.

Bon Bon Berry offers a variety of nutrition-packed, energy-fueling treats — acai bowls, frozen yogurt, and creative specialty drinks that have earned it a loyal neighborhood following.

With UCLA nearby, the store’s clientele includes a lot of students, a population known for being both fickle in its tastes as well as budget-conscious. “My biggest day-to-day challenge is trying to know my customers,” Michael says. “Knowing what the customer likes and dislikes these days is important. The hardest challenge is trying to keep up and trying to provide what they want.”

DashPass helped bring in loyal customers

One thing Bon Bon Berry’s customers seem to want is unlimited free delivery — evidenced by how many students and other local residents have embraced DashPass to quickly access the meals and snacks they crave.

With the busy schedules of today’s consumers, DashPass customers certainly seem to appreciate the convenience it offers.

“I love DashPass,” says Michael. Bon Bon Berry’s decision to sign up as one of the first DashPass customers is one that paid off in the long run, bringing repeat orders that drive business growth.

"DashPass has helped us to get new and loyal customers — most order 5 out of 7 days a week. DashPass brings me a lot of loyal customers that order regularly."

Sponsored Listings and Promotions boost visibility and sales

DoorDash Marketing offers easy and efficient tools for merchants to reach more customers and grow their sales on DoorDash, and Michael has used these to market his business on DoorDash.

One of these tools is Sponsored Listings, ads that boost a store’s visibility by offering prominent placement on the DoorDash homepage, search, and cuisine results. Unlike other advertising platforms, merchants pay only for orders placed through the ad and not for ad clicks or impressions.

Promotions motivate customers to order more often and spend more per order and are also popular ways for restaurants to try marketing on DoorDash.

This was precisely what appealed to Michael, who uses both DoorDash Sponsored Listings and Promotions to drive visibility, sales, and average ticket size.

“Sponsored Listings expose us to new customers who have never heard about us,” he said, adding, “I love the promotions.”

Bon Bon Berry runs promotions such as $0 Delivery Fee for a customer’s first order and various discounts for different subtotal minimums like Spend $25, Get 15% Off and Spend $35, Get $5 Off.

The Business Manager app offered access to key business data on the go

The Business Manager app has also been a breakthrough for Bon Bon Berry – offering convenient access to crucial information like sales and customer orders. Using the Business Manager app on his phone or tablet, Michael is able to monitor store data and sales from wherever he is — in the kitchen, at home, or on the go. He can easily track in-progress orders, mark items out of stock, quickly address store issues, and contact customers, Dashers, or DoorDash Support.

Before downloading the Business Manager app, Michael logged into the Merchant Portal to check his dashboard only about once a month. Now, he opens Business Manager multiple times a day to keep an eye on daily and weekly sales and live orders and to change store status on the platform.

The Business Manager App helps to give me a snapshot into what’s going on throughout the day. I can see the data I want to see on the go. I can see the trends of busy times and I can check if customers are making orders. The Business Manager App has made my life easier.
