Frequently asked questions

As a DoorDash grocery delivery partner, you’ll be able to access DoorDash’s delivery as a service. Here’s how it works: customers browse your store and select items to purchase through the DoorDash App. As a business owner, you can choose between Merchant Pick to bag bags yourself, or Dasher Shop to let Dashers shop for you. Then, Dashers deliver orders to customers.

With DoorDash as a grocery delivery partner, businesses get access to the same state-of-the-art logistics platform that has powered millions of deliveries across the globe. Additionally, Dashers must maintain a minimum rating on DoorDash to remain on the platform and our average delivery time is in 35 minutes or less, helping to ensure items are delivered fast and fresh.

If you sell grocery items, you can partner with DoorDash for grocery delivery and get started on the DoorDash App by filling out this form. Alcohol retailers can sign up here while other retailers and restaurants can sign up here.

Yes! Partnering with DoorDash isn’t an all-or-nothing choice. In fact, some shops, like IGA Nollamara in Western Australia, see partnering with DoorDash as a way to expand their grocery delivery services—and boost local marketing and visibility.

Yes, businesses can partner with Dashers for grocery delivery. Let DoorDash help manage grocery shopping for your customers from start to finish. Here’s how it works: as soon as an order is ready to be processed, a Dasher will arrive at your location to purchase the items requested. They’ll pick out the items and get in line to pay just like any other shopper in your store, but use a special DoorDash credit card to help the process go smoothly. Then, they’ll deliver the order to the address specified by the customer.

We allow merchants to pack orders themselves. Simply pick and pack the items requested in the order, then hand it off to a Dasher for delivery.

Grocers send DoorDash inventory files, or exports from their POS systems, to update their stock on DoorDash.

DoorDash works with grocery stores as well as cheese shops, spice shops, tea shops, candy shops, olive oil shops, health food stores, produce shops, and more.

If an item is out of stock when a Dasher arrives at your location, the Dasher will contact the customer and suggest a substitution.

On the DoorDash App, grocery item prices are set by the merchant to reflect in-store pricing. As for the businesses themselves, there are a variety of DoorDash products to choose from, enabling every business to design a partnership that works best for their unique needs. There is no activation fee for signing up; for being on the app, merchants pay a commission fee that covers marketing costs, delivery driver costs, and customer service costs, and a tablet fee if they choose to use that order protocol.
