Thanks to your feedback, we've made updates to your DoorDash Tablet and the Merchant Portal to make it easier to provide refunds, manage your scheduled orders and handle day to day operational challenges. These new features aim to streamline your process and provide you with even greater control, so you can provide your customers with better service. Here are five new features we’ve created to help you better manage your store:
1. Provide refunds for out-of-stock items
When an item is out of stock, you can now offer your customer a refund directly from your DoorDash tablet — there’s no need to pick a substitute or contact support. This is to help streamline processes and improve task efficiency for staff.

2. Easily manage your scheduled orders
A new Upcoming tab in your DoorDash merchant tablet’s Order Manager allows you to see scheduled orders ahead of time. This addition helps prevent any confusion between scheduled and current orders. When a scheduled order comes in, you will be able to set your own prep time. The order will then move into your Active tab 5 minutes before your prep time begins. If you pause your kitchen, your tablet will also alert you that a scheduled order is in the Upcoming tab.
3. Block a specific Dasher anytime
Now you can block or rate a Dasher at any time on your portal — even if they unassign from your order. Blocking Dashers lowers the number of available Dashers that can deliver from your store, so it should only be used in extreme cases. You can also provide feedback on Dashers so they are aware of areas that need improvement. This allows you to have more control over your Dasher partnerships. Here is a step-by-step tutorial on how to block them in the Merchant Portal. We will also be adding this feature to your DoorDash tablet in the near future.
4. View your canceled order refund status on your tablet
When an order is canceled, your DoorDash Tablet will move the order to the Needs Action queue and will display a notification on the order detail page. Instead of having to check with support, this notification now includes information about whether or not you will be paid for the canceled orders.

5. Improved calling customers and Dashers experience
With the latest update, when you call your customers or Dashers using the phone numbers provided by DoorDash, they will now see the DoorDash name alongside the phone number on their caller ID. This increases the chance that they will answer your call, making it easier for you to quickly make order adjustments or set expectations for pickup times. Thanks again for letting us know when something’s missing or could be better — your feedback helps us make improvements like these! We will have more DoorDash Tablet, Merchant Portal, and app features coming soon.
