Select order protocol

The next step is to choose how you’d like to receive pickup and delivery orders. Most restaurants use a tablet. If you choose this option, you can use your own, or DoorDash can send you one. Orders can also be received by email, fax, or by integrating your POS system.

Once you’ve completed these steps, your restaurant will be activated within 7 days and you’ll be able to start accepting DoorDash orders.

Optimize your menu

Now that your DoorDash account is active, it’s time to employ some tried-and-true strategies for increasing takeout revenue.

Maximize your number of orders by adding your most popular menu items, including desserts, beverages, and sides.

Offer optional modifiers by suggesting customers add an appetizer or side to entree orders. You can also give your customer more options with a Choose Size modifier, which allows them to choose a larger size—from fries and drinks to soup bowls and other items. You can also use modifiers to add protein or toppings to an order.
